March 23, 2013 - update. So sorry, but the wax paper cover on my light did not work out! ): When the light was on for long periods of time, it would warm up the wax paper and it would sag and fall out. So, I just took it off. Fortunately for us, we don't walk around with our heads tilted back so, we don't even notice that it's gone. We think the shade is still lovely without it.
You might remember the drum shade that I found awhile back at Goodwill? For just $4.00!
Once it cooled off, I used the shade to trace around the inside.
What about you? Have you DIY'd any light fixtures? I'd love to hear about it.
Actually, my first attempt at attaching the little acorn thingie was with hot glue, but it ripped off part of the wax paper when I was putting it up.
I thought I could use brackets that I had spray painted white to keep the cover attached, so I hot glued three of them to the inside bottom of the shade.
