Hands down, fall is my favorite time of year here in New Mexico. All of the sites, sounds and smells are intensified. What's great about the New Mexican climate is that we get all four seasons, but none of them is too severe.
So we get the beautiful changing fall leaves, especially on the bosque down by the Rio Grande River.
And, up in the mountains.
The further north you go, the thicker the trees get and you can catch some beautiful aspens in Santa Fe.
In the fall, the sky gets intensely blue and we get big, puffy, white clouds that billow over the Sandia Mountains.
There's the smell of chile roasting in the air.
Festive chile ristras start popping up around town for sale to hang on your front door, if you wish.
And soon we'll be headed down to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, to sip hot chocolate and take in the excitement of mass ascension.
What do you love most about fall?
