Recently, I painted a side table in our living room.
I found this table years ago at a consignment store. I think I paid $40.00 for it. Not expensive, but I'm sure I could have gotten a better deal at a thrift store.
I loved it because it had a glass top, a shelf on the bottom, detail molding and brass decorative accents. I painted it white and used a glaze to give it an aged, distressed look. That was back in the day when I was into Shabby Chic.
Here's a before and after shot for ya. It's sort of like country side table goes to the city.
I painted it the same color (Benjamin Moore's dragon's breath in a pearl finish - love it!) that I used on the bottom of my coffee table and behind my bookcases. I sure got some bang for my buck from a quart of paint.
My kids were in the living room watching TV enjoying some popcorn and lemonade when I took these pictures. I was going to kick them out, but didn't have the heart.
I was planning on joining them when I was done taking the pictures. Bocce tried to steal my popcorn.
I had gotten this white orchid from Trader Joe's for my bookcase styling, but it didn't work out there. It seems to be happy here on this table.
I took the kids' books out of the basket because they've outgrown most of them :( and put in magazines.
I love this table even more now that it's dressed up in charcoal black. It was definitely 40 bucks well spent.
