Father's Day Hand Print Art {Kids' Crafts}

Hope all you Dad's out there are having a great Father's Day! I thought I'd share the Father's Day craft my kids and I (along with a reluctant Bocce) made for their Dad.

We were inspired by the hand print art on Pinterest. Thinking that I could keep it simple, I printed out this free printable from The Crafting Chicks. Only to find that what? My kids' hands were too big for it. Ok, so maybe there's a little bit of denial on my part about the fact that my kids are getting older (sniff).
 Luckily, I had a larger canvas that I painted white to use. At first, I was thinking I'd just stencil, "Happy Father's Day 2013" onto the bottom of it.
You can see how well that turned out! Sort of reminds me of the numbers on the bottom of a mug shot. Nice.

Instead, I just decided to wing it with a Sharpie. The secret to making crappy handwriting, like mine, look half way decent is to use the chisel tip Sharpie.
Next, I just used some brown and black craft paint...
 ...to free hand on a tree.
Since there was no bacon involved in this project, we had to coax a reluctant Bocce to join in the fun.
Now, for the messy and fun part!
This was so much fun and their Dad loved it!

Thanks for taking the time to drop by my blog today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Father's Day!
